The David Glasser Foundation’s Shop with a Cop event on December 19,2020 was a success, even though it looked slightly different due to Coronavirus.

The foundation began its annual Shop with a Cop event in 2016 after Officer Glasser was killed in the line of duty. The first three events were held on site, where kids were able to shop for themselves and their family members, wrap gifts, and have lunch with a police officer. Due to Coronavirus, an event of this magnitude was just not possible this year. “These families and the opportunity to help them during the holiday season means so much to the Foundation, so we made new plans,” said Kristen Glasser, Officer Glasser’s widow and president of the David Glasser Foundation.

Instead, twenty families nominated by Cheetham Elementary School, shopped Target.com and had their gifts wrapped by volunteers and delivered to their homes by uniformed officers. “With overwhelming gratitude, we thank the Foundation and the officers for what they are doing,” said the mother of one of the students. “I have seen first-hand the positive effects this Foundation has had on our community.”

A huge thank you to all of our civilian and law enforcement volunteers for making this event a success. Donations and sponsorships by private parties, the Foltz Fund, Target Stores, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Peter Piper Pizza made this event possible.
